Antique Stoneware 'Improved Inhaler'

This is an antique stoneware inhaler made by Kirkhams Ltd of Stoke-on-Trent. It has a glazed finish that has developed fine crackle or crazing over time, giving it a classic aged look. The front is inscribed “IMPROVED INHALER for hot water infusions &c. The water used with this should be boiling & the inhaler not more than half full. Made in England.” The maker’s mark is on the base. There are no major cracks or chips, though the cork stopper is missing. It remains in good condition for its age and makes an attractive decorative piece or addition to a collection of antique medical items.
