Early 19th century cast iron portrait plaque of George Washington, the first President of the United States. Attributed to American sculptor William Rush, this round plaque features a detailed bust of Washington facing right, with the inscription placed at the top right of the design. The surface is finished in black with gold highlights that define areas of his uniform. A rare and impressive display piece measuring 56cm in diameter and crafted in solid cast iron with substantial weight.
